Information on travelling
Arrival and Departure
The arrival day for the participants of Frankfurt Summer School is 04 August 2019. Accommodation for the duration of the Summer School is provided, starting from this day until 31 August. If you want to arrive earlier or stay longer, you need to find alternative accommodation for the additional time of your stay.
Arrival at Frankfurt Airport
We provide a pick-up service from Frankfurt Airport on Sunday, 04 August 2019, between 08:00 and 18:00 CET (timeframe may be subject to change). We accompany you to the dormitory and help you check-in and get settled on your first day in Frankfurt. Those choosing to make use of the pick-up service, receive their travel passes for the area of Frankfurt+Frankfurt Airport right after meeting us at the arranged meeting point (TBA) at the airport and don’t have to pay the ticket to the dormitory. Those travelling to the dormitory directly, receive their tickets there.
Important information regarding Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport is the airport of Frankfurt am Main proper. There is a second airport called Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. Frankfurt-Hahn is roughly 1,5-2 hrs away from Frankfurt am Main. There are shuttle busses connecting Frankfurt-Hahn with Frankfurt Main Station but you would have to arrange that on your own. This means there won’t be any pick-up service organised by us from Frankfurt-Hahn.
The programme fee covers health, liability and accident insurance.
Most non-EU-citizens wanting to study or stay longer than 90 days in Germany for other purposes, usually need a visa. On the Federal Foreign Office webpage, you can find out whether you need a visa for visits to Germany and the Schengen states of up to 90 days.
Please allow sufficent time for the application process, which can last up to several weeks.
